Tree Surveys
Aside from providing shade on a hot Florida afternoon, trees can:
-
produce oxygen
-
prevent erosion and excessive water runoff
-
trap and filter airborne particulates (ash, dust, and pollen)
-
reduce wind velocity and noise
-
provide food and shelter for wildlife
-
contribute to the aesthetics of our state and contrast with urban development
Most cities and counties in Florida will require a tree survey or arbor permit prior to development to preserve unique or outstanding specimens and determine landscaping requirements. Each city or county has their own tree protection criteria, so it's important to choose a firm that is familiar with the specific regulations. For larger planned developments, tree preservation easements may also be required.
Excelsior's ecological staff are experts in identifying Florida's native tree species. When necessary, we coordinate with ISA-certified arborists, land surveyors, engineers, and landscape architects to plan, preserve, and design.
