Underground Storage Tanks
Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) containing 110 gallons or more of a regulated (hazardous) liquid are subject to the requirements of Chapter 62-761, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). These requirements include compliance, incident or discharge notification, soil and/or groundwater sampling requirements during repair or closure, and system repair and removal.

According to the FDEP, there are approximately 24,000 regulated storage tanks registered in Florida. However, many times undocumented USTs are discovered during construction activities, particularly in older metro areas such as Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami.
